Have you had a tune and service done recently?
Have you done anything?
Filters? timing?

i got an 88 man.
They are thristy as, but i've fixed mine a little so far to be geting 16. which is about as good as its going to get i think.
Oils, plugs, rotor, leads
then do you timing
then reset your valves.
I gave the carby a good clean out, and played around with the mixture screw. Its in between two vacum hoses at the bottom right of the carby, wind it back a bit man. Chances are it was like mine and was running way too rich.
give it a go mate.

Spiral core leads are great especially on gas cars but wont be the fix your looking for. Also on a carby car you don't lean it by removing its fuel supply, that's askin for a whole range of issues.chops wrote:I was told to invest in some spiral core ignition leads, and an adjustable low pressure fuel pressure regulator to help lean it right out
