Hi Sam, you still about big fella?

You vehicle looks great. A bit like a go cart but hey, 35 's + should fix that. Maybe a wheelbase stretch! :D

Are your coil overs adjustable for height?

If you don't take the body lift out then there is a brilliant opportunity to chop the chassis behind the rear panhard mount and raise that dam petrol tank.

Cheers, G

P.S. I bought the JTop, Rolled, V6, locker.... $400 :D Hope it goes!

been working on it steadily all week, but run into some problems.

went and got bolts for the coilover mounts... even tho i supplied a sample they still supplied the wrong ones and arnt open again till tue so im off to hunt a couple of other places tomorro. found the 60 series ball joint doesnt fit into the prado pitman arm, so going to try a prado balljoint tomorro.also fount the tierod is hitting on the panhard mount on right hand lock. so going to have to take some off that till it clears.

on the up side, the power steering box is plumbed up. got the connectors for th toyota box off a surf and took the old lines into a hydraulics place, $15 later and they were done. no cooler at the moment, but will have before long, and the ifs hub swap is finished.

hopeing i make some decent progress tomorro as i feel like i havent made stuff all today!

sorted the p/s cooler tonight. mounted and plumbed up. mounted it behind the right hand headlight. wont get much airflow but as it was justa pipe before i figure it will be fine as its a lancer evo 4 cooler.

Image

now i just want to know if i need to be carefull of anything with it? its not mounted too high in the engine bay, plumbed up wrong or somthing?

cheers, Sam

wouldn't want to blow a headlight globe now, might be a tad tricky to get to. Looks awesome though, SAS'd paj's look a whole lot better than lifted patrols IMO.

But your coils look pretty closely spaced (to an untrained eye). Not going to suffer coil-lock before hitting the bump stops on up-travel?

They are coil overs.

Sam, looks good mate. Now build yourself a proper ramp to get the rear end working properly and then show us what it can do.....

the buld thing did occur to me. especially after i put the airbox back in. theres even less room. but if it does happen, its just two screws to undo and i can access it just as easily as before.

and NJV6, ill take it up to turoas at some stage and put it on the proper ramp. gota do the breaks and put the short axle in first tho. wana have it running for a play in rallywoods in two weeks so hopefully i make it this time. the tyres gave me incentive again...

your noob showing? im still wondering what coil lock is! nj saying they were coil overs made me think he answered it for me and i didnt have to look stupid.. im assuming its the coils hitting the chassis rails from the curve they get when extending or somthing?

hehehe. Nope, that's not what i meant by coil lock. Compression until the coils hit each other, therefore no more wheel travel. Coil-lock might be the wrong term. Minimum compressed length, is what i'm getting at.

ok... HELP NEEDED! im put the power steering belt back on today, when i started it up, was ok.. then i realised i hadnt put enough oil in so i put sum more in. now i have put about a litre or so in. now the problem is this... the steering violently goes from lock to lock by its self. so violetly when trying to stop it, it dam near bent my fingers off. goes from one side then snaps back the other way. also after only not even a minute the pump is almost too hot to touch and the lines are very warm to the feel, but this may be due to me slowing the spinning of the steering wheel to see if it is just doing it while circulating the oil or somtheing.
it also seems to be leaking slightly from the hight pressure line.
im guessing its not normal, so have i hooked something up backwards/wrong? does it just need a blead from somewhere? what am i missing?

cheers guys.

well we found out that if you put the gear box out of the Gen 2 Pajero into the Gen 1 It was much more powerfull you bearly had to turn the wheel to turn the 35's not roling its awesome. Maybe you are at the Extreme end of things like pom300 says
