Big-O-4x4 radius arm
Big-O-4x4 radius arm
Who is running these arms? How much extra flex did you get? Are you happy with them?
Im running Big O 3" arms, hard to tell how much extra flex the arms gave as I did the entire upgrade at the same time, couldnt be happier, best value for money setup IMO.
Andy is a great bloke who I have recommended to a few friends, all have been extremely happy with his service and products.

big o arms
Have a set coming, hopefully should see them tomorrow. Curruntly run a 4" lift with offset bushes , so should see a big improvement in handling.
Will let you know of the difference.

Can you take some measurements and pics to compare before and after flex?eighty8 wrote:Have a set coming, hopefully should see them tomorrow. Curruntly run a 4" lift with offset bushes , so should see a big improvement in handling.

Hi Guys
We have some rubber bushes that flex really well. $170 for the set of 4 slotted GU bushes that you can use with the GQ. They will make any arm flex really well. The arm itself won't help you flex much more though. It is just some steel.

The fact that the overall radius that the front diff swings in is longer than with the factory arms increases flex on its own.
I run some Haultech Offroad slotted bushes in the front of mine, and while i can twist the front end such that I get the centre steel sleeve of each bush touching the outside steel sleeve, they do flog out real quick, thats why I recommend Genuine GU bushes now. They don't flex quite as much but still a lot better than the solid GQ bushes do.
so if you run my arms with the solid bushes then the extra flex would have to be measured to see the difference, but with slotted bushes you can see it easily.
Best results are by driving a rear wheel up a ramp or whatever as this shifts more weight over the front and causes it to twist, as opposed to driving up forwards which really only makes the rear work.
i can max out my 580mm front shocks (3") by doing this.
cheers

The slotted bushes I am talking about are just like the GU slotted bushes but just after market and they provide a bit more flex then Genuine Slotted bushes. I put a lifetime warranty on the bushes. They give outstanding flex and include freight for $170.
A customer sent me a pic on the phone of him going up a hill flexed up and it was impressive so they do work well still, just not as much as going down hill.
Cheers

be careful with aftermarket rubber.

If they were to flog out in 12 months you would still have to go through the expense of changing them over. If you were local we could do that pretty cheaply though. I'd say you would be local enough.

Got my new arms early in the week and fiited them up thursday night.
Can really feel the difference from the old set up of offset bushes. Alot nicer on the highway and alot smoother in general having rubber bushes back in. Doesn't wander like it used to.
very happy with the product and the service of Andy.
Cheers. Alex.

They put the diff in the factory position, front to back wise, so yes they're longer than standard.
and yes they give extra clearance as well.
