Disconnect the rear door (PushUp PullDown) Switch on 60 Ser?

Post by PeterInSa »

Have an alarm/imob. on my HJ61 when driving over rough roads the rear Push Up Pull down rear door can become slightly loose then on changes of temperature at night the Vehicle alarm goes off, if I have not re-slammed the rear before arming the alarm.

When Strathfield installed the alarm I asked them not to connect the back Up/Down doors, they said it was to hard to do. For 18 months did not have a problem as the door switch, did not work, now sometimes out in the bush or in a caravan park the alarm goes off sometimes at 2 am in the morning.

Question 1. Where is the Bl..dy switch, is it connect to the lock on the Pull down rear door (that you can use as a seat out in the bush.

Question 2. What is the easiest way to disconnect this switch.

The switch in in the upper tailgate. it is part of the catch / central locking mechanism. Just open up the inspatcion plates in the upper tailgate and look for the wires, they are the only ones up there.
