Immobilizer Trouble

Post by Bitumen Beast »

I'm trying to install an immobilizer into my 75 cruiser. It's a Rhino RES4601. Has anybody had anything to do with these??
I have connected it as per the instructions but even with it disarmed, the car won't start. There is a relay in the control unit which doesn't seem to be energizing. I can force the relay and the car starts but for some reason it isn't working how it should. I've double checked the wiring but I can't find anything wrong.
Any help would be good cause it's starting to make me go crazy

Have you checked your IGN ON source for the alarm isn't cutting out when you try to crank it?

Most IGN switches have two circuits for power when the IGN is "ON"- one will cut out when cranking (to reduce drain on the battery) and the other will stay live while cranking (it powers only the systems required for the engine to fire.)
