Over the past year my starter has started to crank over a lot slower and the volt metre shows a much bigger voltage drop than usual. I first thought it was the battery (4 years old) so i replaced it the other day (760cca) and its exactly the same.
Is my starter on its ay out? Anything i can do to help/fix?
cheers
james

GQ Starter motor issues
GQII Patrol YAY!!
could be a bad connection, corrosion on the main cable from the battery to starter solenoid, id check them first before rippin it out and having it checked,
if your hand with a multimeter disconnect battery and check the resistance between positive battery terminal and starter solenoid, could also be a bad connection in the solenoid itself,

mine was slugish. new battery didn't help at all.
New earth cable and new power cable to the starter, now it just about turns its self inside out when you hit the key.
At the same time i fitted a high quality cable from the alternator to the battery (parallel to the original), picked up 0.5V when measured at the battery.
