What offset rim....

Post by Mud Toy »

Hey guys im about to put 31'' Baja claws on my jimny and im just wondering what off set rims the jimny owners are running, or any one who knows what offest will clear every thing, im running 4' spring lift and 2' coil spacers at the mo so theres more then enough clearance just dont know about width wise...

Any feed back is appreciated...

Hi Mate,

On my Jim I run 31/10.5s with -15 15x7s. They rub in the guards a bit but clear everything else. I only have about 3inchs of lift and some cutting. You could even try to go a little wider as you have twice the lift of me. Hard thing to guess as every set up and tyre width is different.

in my opinion wider as possible. zooks tip to easy. :bad-words:
but as mud muncher runs i think they would do. and if they do rub a hammer is a verry handy tool.

So mud muncher your running a -15 offset, maybe a -20 or even -25 could be better, im thinking jeep gaurds any ways depending on how the tyres sit.....

-15 backspacing is as far as i know the biggest offset 7 inch rim you can buy off shelf. if you want bigger offset you will have to get custom rims (flipped and dished). this involves cutting the centre out of the rim, flipping round the centre and welding it back in with big offset. in my opinion it will cause more trouble with firewall clearance.

i ran my 31 baja claws on 15x8's with - 25.. and currently 31mtz's on the same rim.. work very well on a sierra.. not sure on jimny, but i can't see why not.. they are also the largest offset available off the shelf. king and speedy both make them.

Thanks for the input, i think ill chase up the 8' with the -25, that way i can go as wide as possible as i have a fair bit of lift...

i should also add.. speedy used to make a -28.. which is now a -25.. and kings are either -23 or -25. .. its tits for tat.. but if you find some older speedy's your getting that bee's dick more offset..?

king f100s come with a 13deg offset,
with 235 on front, they stick out 35mm past the guards, and 30s on the rear stick out 15mm past the guards..had to fit rubber flares to keep cops happy

I have baja claws on ROH, F100 rims, 15 x 8s, stunning, and they are 28mm offset.

Sunaraysia style.

Thinkin of geting the centers cut and going for 40 or 45mm offset, much cheaper than spacers..
If it breaks, excellent, time for an upgrade
