real life vit cv experience.

Post by tails83 »

just wondering how much droop you can get without breaking stuff for real, looking at 40mm strut spacer and strut mount flip, is this gonna be right or what. i'm asking it ths way as i'm expecting ppl to say 2in lift is max but with stock struts it don't matter as in the struts top out. how much extra droop can i get without breaking stuff. i do have 30mm spring spacers in the front and strut mont flip, other than that, the front suspension is stock.

cheers

Luke.

so you have strut spacers - how big are they

you have diff drop brakets, 1 or 2 inch.

if you have 40mm strut spacer and 40mm diff drop brakets - sort of cancels each other out. even tho you have 3in of lift, the strut is gonna stop to much droop and breaking the cv.
just trying to work it out, if you had 70mm strut spacers and no diff drop brakets then i know it woud be safe to allow that much extra down travel.

wardy, do you have longer struts as well as the strut mount flip?

i'm guessing it's a 3" spacer + i'm running OME struts.

not sure about the diff brackets as they had to be modified to suit the j20a wide track vitara.

cool, so even with 2in diff drop brakets and 3in spacer makes it about an extra 1in drop plus the ome struts of 40mm means that it can handle 65 maybe 70mm of extra droop with no problems.

wardy, i think the ironman struts are stock length, do you have any droop as i only have 40mm with 50mm of lift, with 75mm that you have means you would only have 15mm of droop, it might be putting the extra stress on you cv's somehow and breaking them, i might also be wrong to lol.

I had 2" springs, 1" spacer, OME stuts and a strut mount flip.

Driving hard on 33x10.5's I never broke a CV. Broke plenty of front diffs though...
