Hi, I need help to find out what is the best size Holley carby to run on a mild 302 windsor on gas. The motor is going into my fj45 landcruiser. thanks

I'd say roughly about a 600cfm would be more than enough for what you need. Are you planning on spending much time on petrol?

deoends what you want out of it. a 600 is the upper limit on a stock 5L.
a 450mech or 465vac will loose out only slightly in high rpm power, but low end and drivability have the potential to be greatly improved

If petrol is your back-up fuel supply for when you can't get gas, maybe the simplest and least breakable is the way to go. Just a thought to throw into the mix.

Do you want to maximise the torque or go for outright HP?
If you want all out power go a 600 or 650 (holley). Vac sec if its manual and Double pumper if it's an auto.

If you want torque a 500 two barrel(holley) will be plenty.

I am wanting torque not speed and gas will be used most of the time. I have had the heads rebuilt for gas and I am puting in a mild stage 1 cam. It is being bored 0.030 over, it will also run 4 into 1 extractors and have a five speed box behind it. The ute has 35" tyres.

My personal preference would be an original Carter,far less trouble and far easier tuning than a Holly going over any rough ground.A Holly won't give you anything the Carter can't in this particular application.

i would think as your after torque tri-y's would be better extractors to use.
4 into 1's are generally for higher reving power applications.

A Quadrajet is a far better carby than a Holley. Easier to tune, easier to repair on the side of the road if you have to.
If you were running on petrol with a Holley, you might as well fit a garden tap and a 44 gallon drum of fuel on the roof.
