Plus, when he complained they didn't say "oh, you need a retainer" they said, "oh, you must have fitted it wrong." Not good enough!
$6000!! Agreed, should fit itself for that!! And have no probs!!

Is it a Mav or a Patrol?

They probably sold you a lift kit for a Patrol. Mav's are different. Ford used smaller axles from the XB Falcon. As a result you probably need to fit some dropout cones and fit retainers to the bottom of the coil

Fact.

so let me get this right? you bought the kit through some one other than superior?? and someone else fitted it?

so apart from having shocks that have heaps of flex and NOT having $90 cone dropouts! how does it work? i gather it has F###'n awesome flex then!

Really if its just cone dropouts that is required, then speak directly to Mick at superior, I am positive he will give you a set. FFS they are only a few bucks, and he fits them to pretty much all the trucks he does. Who did you speak to about this? (PM me) I gather it wasn't him.

"want to be a wylie" i a couple of questions .
I have Just been informed of this post and thought i had better have a look.
As the director of Superior Engineering i have not heard anything about this kit "i am assuming it is our kit " or at least some of our parts by the prior post that had red highlighted " Superior Engineeering"

Assuming it is our kit was it purchased directly though us or from a reseller?

If it was from us who and when did you contact our staff regarding this problem.

If it was from a reseller PM me the contact details of the reseller and the qualified fitter, and why was i not contacted?

Our flex kits are sold with coil drop cones when the larger shocks are supplied, the customers have a couple of choices which shock to use, wondering why no coil drop outs are in the kit.

I have checked our emails and no record of any such mention of this problem??

If this is not our kit or parts or anything to do with Superior Engineering please clarify this in the post.

Your quick response will be appreciated.

I just looked at the superior website and found this
http://www.superiorengineering.com.au/p ... ts_id=3502

Superior 4-5 inch lift kit Superflex Radius Arms
[TD4SFKT1] $3,819.00
Superior 4-5 inch lift kit Superflex Radius Arms

Superior Engineering has put together kit to lift your nissan 4-5 inchs. Kit includes 4x Dobinson coils, 4 x45mm Tough dog Big Bore Adjustable shocks, 1x tough dog EXT Steering damper, 1x Front and 1x rear H/D adjustable Panard rods,1 x pair SuperFlex Radius Arms, 2 x extended brake lines, 1 x extended diff breather kit, 1 x extended brake proportioning valve bracket , (options are 4x sway bar disconnects or 2 x rear upper adjustable Control arms or 2 x rear lower control arms) 1 x 4140 H/D adjustable Drag Link, 2 x coil drop out cones.
Superior Engineering will contact you upon receiving the order to dicuss coil rates.

As you see it says - 2xcoil drop out cones!! and call to discuss spiring rates! The other thing i noticed was the price - only $3819 NOT $6000

something sounds fishy here? :? you would have to add a FULL long arm kit AND a set of Chromo CAL cv's to get near $6k

In fairness WTBAW didn't say it was superior, it has come to that from people putitng two and two together to make 7.

But it probably would be fair to at least clarify who it wasn't at this stage.

I think your right micka, the company to which the original enquiry relates (not superior eng or bbm) offers a 5" kit that DOESN'T come with cone dropouts and $$'s wise is closer to the suggested final cost. I won't summize too much till WTBAW confirms it!

yes its refreshing to know there are suppliers out there that will stand by there stuff (turns out not his problem anyway) and go to every effort to make sure the customer is happy. Its a shame they ALL aren't like that.

I am glad this has nothing to do with Superior Engineering :D

We had a staff meeting today in regards to this matter and none of the staff had heard of any such problem, so i was pretty damn sure it was not our suspension .

Thank you to the readers who did not " jump to conclusions"

I think Michael your to be commended for the way you have calmly dealt with the fact that at one stage this kit could have come from you fellars, and were happy to nut out him problem intstead of just telling him he's a tool. I think a lot of sellers could take a leaf for your book.
You have won my business in the future.

I will give Superior a huge arms up  for customer service as well, I had purchased a Hilux lift off him and it wasn't sitting right.

Rang him and he said come over and he will measure it ( on i think it was xmas eve last year, he said we aren't really open but pop over anyway ) He got it all sorted out for me to have it fixed by the supplier really quickly, no hassles, no blaming it was fitted wrong or anything.

One happy customer here :D Never had a drama with any of their stuff ( on my hilux or patrol) and they are always happy to give you advice to help you out

The fitter whoever it is isn't much chop if they will let a job out the door without at least suggesting action by the owner. FFS I thought it was rule 101 to check that springs are retained.

Dont know about the other states, but in VIC springs must be retained completely at full suspension drop in order to be roadworthy.

In Qld you can't go over a 2" lift but every 2nd vehicle that drives past the shop is higher then 2 inches.

Mr Wylie, i recommend that you find a reputable dealer and simply purchase some suitable drop-out cones that will fit your vehicle, and put your current dilemma to rest. You can keep it as a future reference, so as never to deal with this particularly awful supplier again.

From the research i have done on the subject matter, it of my personal beleif that Mr. Wylie purchased his parts off the business known as "Snake Racing", although this is just my opinion - not a known fact as yet.

Thankyou for taking the time to read my post.
