Pros and cons of TD5

Post by iamgq »

Hi there,

I am looking to get a TD5 for my wife as they are getting very cheap now.
I am new to discovery so can somebody tell me if Td5 is good or not.

I am interested in this one:

We will use it for occassional offroad (high range stuff) and long trip use.

I have been looking at TD5's for a while now. That dealer had that very car for sale a some months ago for around $10,500.

So I would not be in a hurry to pay their full price.

It is a "compliance-plated 7-seater", which I *think* means it's not a factory 7-seater. Which means it probably doesn't have the self-levelling airbag suspension on the back - I think that is a desirable feature. It came on all the factory seven-seaters and was an option on the five-seaters (I think.)

I would personally hold out for a TD5 that has ACE and SLS.

Also, at that price point there are several that have under 200,000km.... sometimes a fair bit under. Again, this is just a reason why their price seems too high to me. It could still be a good buy at the right price.
This is not legal advice.
