To much air-con gas

Post by sambo »

What are the symptoms of having to much gas in the system. Ever since I got it regassed the compressor makes a huge wining noise once the pressure is built up. and now it draw a lot more power from the motor, before you couldn't even notice when it was on, but now it is very noticable. And the air doesn't seem quite as cool as i remember either.

from what i understand , if the system is working properly and there is too much gas it will cause too much pressure when running and will turn off till the pressure drops

every air-con compressor that I have heard squealing after a regas udually means it is on its way out.

Quite common in old air con systems after they have had some work done on them & is ususally not the fault of the last guy who looked at it.

The guy I get to do mine has been doing them for years & he gets the occasional one (they are better these days), he also puts a warning on the invoice that even though he has flushed the system, due to the fact it is so old that the compressor might have problems.
Don't ask me, ask them. I'm just runnin for my life myself.
Well they are all following you...

It's possible to get the low side pressure high enough that liquid enters the compressor.
Compressors hate that.

Thats sort of what I was thinking might be happening. Would this make the compressor wine a lot.

too much gas will cause it to cut in and out all the time, high pressure on the low side of the systems means theres a problem and noisy pump could be wrong oil, no oil or buggered pump.

did they replace the dryer? and why did you get it regassed
1uzed and no home for it

Take it back to the people who regassed it or someone else who is qualified and get it checked.

You cant tell what is going on with out putting some guages on it. Anything else is just guessing, educated guessing maybe, but still guessing.
