went to portland on the weekend ....
camped near some ppl with sand buggies ,
1 had a rover 3.9 efi .....
the other had a 1.3 GTi motor !!
now the tech in this thread is ...........
he had weber manifolds on it , BUT had the 4 throttle bodies from the toyota motor bolted to it !!
cant remember wat ECU he was running , but when he used to compete , he would rev it out to about 11,000 rpm !!!
now that its just a toy , detuned it , now only revs to about 8,000rpm !!!
but man o man , it farkin fly,s !!! that is alll !!!!

You would have pistons and rods give out at those kind of revs, and the parts are not available other than custom. So either you spent bulk on a motor for little gain when you could use a bigger motor or like I said you exaggerate.
