So Hobzee, who's driving and navigating and what truck for car 1?

Interesting to see if the Challenge goes ahead after the fires this weekend.
We'll be lucky if there is any forest left or tracks open.

Recieved this from Ray:

Dear Drivers, Navigators & Check Point Officals

The past few days of absolute devastation has come as a great shock to all of us and our prayers and support must go to all those people who have lost love one's and/or everything of value to them.

As a result of this devastation and the ongoing threat of fires in many areas we are monitoring the situation very carefully and will do so over the next
week before making a final announcement regarding the 2009 Cooper Tires Pajero Challenge.

I will be talking with DSE late this week or early next week regarding the situation in the Thomson State forest & surrounding areas and requesting their guidance as to the viability, of the challenge continuing on the planned dates.

I am sure you understand the situation and we will be advising you at the earliest possible time what our decision is.

Regards

Paj

I think many people would agree with me that we support what ever decision the Pajero Club makes in relation to whether the Challenge is deferred or not and that the club shouldn't feel obliged or pressured into running it on the set date.

Was thinking the other day, yes it hurt.... Firstly, if the Pajero goes ahead, it would be a good idea to take a leaf out of the bash book and organise some sort of system where competitors are 'fined' or the is a charge imposed on score sheet signing at check points with the monies going to bush fire relief funds... or secondly if the event is cancelled, there is an option for the entry fees to be forward to a relief fund instead of being returned. No obligation to do so, but it's there as an option.

What do you think?
