Before you import look at guys that already import engines and see what they have in stock. Take Eagle auto as example. I think they have one in brizzy. If not i know they do in sydney and melbourn and freight would be cheeper from those citys than from the states.

Try these guys if you are looking to buy and import from the states. I don't have personal experience with them but they seem to run a pretty tight service taking care of all import issues etc.
THey are based in the states and have a rep out in melbourne. Seems to know what he's on about.

But I later got some paint from china and it was badly damaged from the same company.
Ended up bringing in 11 ski's a 40ft for a bit over 5k. Choose your shipper carefully as they are often as rough as guts. It would work out well to get 5-10 guys together and get a 20ft as there really is no more work over LCL freight on one item. 20ft should cost 3-4k.
regards,
Bru

There is only a handful of ship owners that operate liner services to Australia because of the tight port controls we have here.
Freight forwarders are a dime a dozen around the company and all basically act as agents to book freight on the liner services. The more they book the better the rates they can get.

That's why you take out your own marine insurance or buy under an incoterm where the seller bears all responsibility of loss or damage such as CIF.bru21 wrote: But I later got some paint from china and it was badly damaged from the same company.
