Event Mashalling

Post by nicbeer »

Ok,

Who does it and what accreditions have u got for it?

Also what positions have u done and recommend?

I am thinking about doing the westozchallenge (Outback challenge in WA) mashalling and they are doing a CCDA accredited marshal training day.

I already have my CAMS general official license btw

You will need to do the CCDA Marshalling Course
Fairly straight forward and common sense

A few of us done OBC last year for the first time.
It can be hard to marshal, by hard I mean we are accustomed to lending a hand when somebody is in strife. As a marshal you HAVE to just watch.
Heaps of fun, like being a spectator but with 'access all areas' passes

Done several differing events in the past ..........
contact the event organiser for their requirements and go from there.

Sadly no two events ever seem to allow "other qualifications" obtained from other events to be used at their events. I've had the situation where my "skills level" exceeded the requirements but was still asked to do a course to "obtain qualifications that they'd accept for their event"

Kingy

P/S
This should probably be in the events section..... I may move it in a day or two....
;)
