LN106 Power Steering

Post by Weiner »

Hi Guys,

Currently stockpiling all the stuff I need for power steering on my Hilux, and need to know what else I need before I get stuck into it.

It currently has no power steering, I have got a IFS box and Trailgear High steer stuff.

The IFS box and reservoir are off a 4Y I believe, came out of a 4 runner.

Thanks Aidan.

pitman arm?
think the 75 series? ones are flatter and give better clearance or is it 80 series?
Keep it shiny side up!

Its the 80 series, but if you bought a kit it should have come with a pitman arm.

2.8 Deisel, yes have the pitman arm that came with the box, and the TG one which I think is an 80 series one.

I need the mount for the power steering pump and a belt or so, but not sure what else.

Spaners
That resivour may not work so best chase up one from a 2.8 or similer design. Also the belt to drive the pump and check if the harmonic ballancer has the pulley for the power steer. Those steel lines look like they may be off the runner just check that also.
plenty of parts on the bench

you have two pumps in that picture. One without a tank and one with a tank. The one with the tank looks like a 3rz pump.

Yeah the steel lines came with the box, so I will need ones for the 2.8

It came out of a 4y.

I will price the 3L reservoir and lines then.

Do I need a different arm that comes from the steering wheel?
