Bought my 2000 TD sr5 off dad early last year with 420,000kms on the clock (he had it since new and had it regularly serviced), it now has 480,000kms on the clock (including a faultless 6000k trip through the Simpson Desert) and still going fine.
Gearbox was reco'd at 350,000kms, motor or injector pump still havent been touched :)

I love it! It doesnt do the tracks as easy as my old hilux being IFS, but I dont seem to be getting away much at the moment anyway, and for on the road driving, its heaps better and more comfortable.
Im glad I bought off him, as he was just going to trade it in cheap, and since I knew the history, I jumped at it!

Bit of a grave dig, but does anybody know what usually goes first in high km's 1kz-te's?

Looking at buying one with 300k+, it's had all the usual 5000km services, but am not sure if the gearbox or turbo would be the first worry.

Depends on the way the Hilux's been treated I know, but does anyone have any experience?

Is 300,000+ even high km's for a 1kz-te? I'm looking at jumping ship from a GQ for a ute, where 300,000km is just wearing it in enough to be able to tow and hit the redline ;)

Cheers, Jimmy
