adjusting trailing arms
anyone got any ideas on how to adjust my trailing arms?
either on the vehicle or off
i tried with them on the GU still but didnt have the strength/weight to "crack the nuts...
obviously the bushes provided some play in it but even when i had it as far as it could go i still didnt have enough to crack them..

already been soaked in WD40 for a while so far

big shifter plus big pole (about 2foot) as leverage
leverage was tried about 5mins after it didnt crack with just the shifter (18" or so)

Try using some wurth brand rostoff, then get it on a hoist and get a pair of stilcens with a length of pipe 4 - 5 ft and have a real go.

the problem im having is if i use too much leverage then im to scared to leave the diff on the jack or stands..
with the shifter and pole i could already feel the car moving a little..
3T worth of patrol i dont want getting stuck on the driveway that i cant move
if i could get a hold of my 31s then id stick them back on as a backup

At this point your just cracking nuts. Leave the car on the ground untill you have them cracked.
18" shifter with a street sign on it . Take up the weight then get a friend to sharply hit the head of the shifter with a 4pound hammer.
if you have the gear, hold the other nut by another shifter and take the weight with a floor jack.
or
take one off at a time and put it in a vice
cheers smitty

You could try hitting the nut head with a 4pound hammer and i don't just mean a tap give it a wack, this may help crack it and loosen the thread. If worse comes to you can heat it up this of couse will ruin your paint though
