BBM Group Buy - Chromoly GQ CV's + Axle Sets.
BBM Group Buy - Chromoly GQ CV's + Axle Sets.
Happy new year to all of you Nissan/Ford fans.
BBM are proud to announce an exclusive Group Buy opportunity for CalOffroad CV's and axles.
As Im sure you all know, these are the gun when it comes to the front of a GQ.
If you put your name up, you re commiting to purchase a set consisting of 2 CV's and 2 axles.
At this point this is only to suit GQ. If there is enough interest for a GU group buy, we will look ino that later.
So, whats the red-hot price, and how many spots are here?
RRP for a set of these bad boys is $1830.
We are doing the group buy special rate of $1550. Beleive me, this is ROCK BOTTOM. You will NOT get a price like this ever again.
To pull it off we need 10 sets.
SO who is gonna get this party started...........

im running Cals CVs in my GQ ute with 38 TSL's, i bought them before tuff truck 08 through BBM, and have spoken to Cal just after i bought them, he said then that if i can break them to send them straight back to him,
i too would love to hear from Cal, but ill take his word for it,
as far as i can see he has a great product and i would not hesitate to use them in a comp truck,

Re: gg
hmm, i just shelled out the hard erned $$$ for these. car is GQ , standard carbie petrol with 37 treps. chose the cromo over the gu front end (similar price). hope i made the rite choice.suttygu wrote:mine are gq ive broken them and i know of several others that have broken the gq ones and couldnt get warranty .. i wouldnt be buying them.. specially n/a diesel breaking them on 35 pedes
my race truck has 37 treps and 260 rwkw, and still same gu cv's for a few years, never broken one. spose to be way stronger than GU front and i was trying to make bullet proof, hence carbie petrol. missed out on larger brakes etc to buy cals.
lick my vinegary balls.

Rick, apologies for high jacking this posts for a minute.
To the guys interested in purchasing these cv's just give cal a ring direct and talk to him about the warranties/ past and present and future
Businesses like BBM and Superior Engineering do not have authority to warrant these cv's so they will only be passed onto cal for final decision.
The manufacture always has the last word so to get it "word for word" or in writing talk to cal then give rick a call / post him to purchase them.
Rick if you disagree just correct me.
Cheers
Michael

Well I have a N/A TD42 and 35s and haven't even broken a stock nissan cv yet (in four years), and yep I play with it as hard as the next bloke over here (the Patrol that is), just a combination of careful and lucky. I also have a mate over here who has insane torque and he has Cal cvs and he is very happy with them.
My rhs stocker is starting to click a bit and when replacing something I like to use something that I KNOW will minimise any future probs and is the best I can afford and/or justify, hence I use air lockers and expensive batteries and the list goes on. Of the people I knock around with if Zac can't break them that's good enough for me, he broke truckloads on his last truck including a big name brand. I won't change my thoughts because a couple of people know a bloke who knows a bloke who's neighbour broke one, but I just ask that my potential genuine warranty issue (I know I don't have the power to break one, and I'm not a mad driver) would be looked at in a fair light. There would appear to be a LONG list of blokes using them with no problems, with much more torque and bigger tyres than myself.
So anyway it's been a week, when does it get sorted and who wants my money???

They are a good product. I am running (and occasionally breaking) Unimog axles, and these CV's have impressed me enough that I am planning on possibly building a second, smaller buggy using GQ axles.
Cal really hasn't had that many people contact him who have broken these things. Certainly not anywhere near the number of people who have posted in this thread saying that them or their mate breaks them all the time.
Warranty on an object like these really needs to be taken on a case by case basis. Anything can be broken. If someone says they will warrant a constant velocity joint for any tyre size and engine output, some tool will surely park their tyre in an undercut and dump the clutch at full noise.

I could not have put it better Michael, and your input is always welcomed.SuperiorEngineering wrote:Rick, apologies for high jacking this posts for a minute.

We are still going ahead mate, I have just been waiting on Cal to clarify the warranty. Then I will quote him here, and the buyers can make their descions based on fact. We will get this done, just please bear with us. I think this gives everyone the opportunity to be buying with confidence.Leeroy wrote:Well I have a N/A TD42 and 35s and haven't even broken a stock nissan cv yet (in four years), and yep I play with it as hard as the next bloke over here (the Patrol that is), just a combination of careful and lucky. *THREAD CLEANED ON REQUEST OF BBM RICK*

Ok guys, here is the reply from Cal regarding warranty and his position on it. This is direct copy of the email he sent me.
These Cvs and axles have been designed to be the strongest available and are designed for competition use and extreme load and abuse.
they are many times stronger than standard Cv and axles.
As people should realise nothing is unbreakable in hardcore 4x4 and offroad. These joints and axles have proven themselves over and over world wide in many situations.
Anyone that says they have seen heaps break and there is no warranty needs to contact CalOffroad as we have only seen 4 or 5 world wide out of hundreds sold. ( and we are always here you just need to call or email or you can call BBM or Superior as I know either will be happy to
help)
If you are competing and are serious to win then these joints are for you as you need every extra piece of strength and reliability you can get.
WE have done hundreds of hours of real world testing on these joints and axles and they stand up to some amazing abuse.
The only joints that havnt been covered under warranty had some obvious abuse and over steering issues that will cause any joint to break.
The reputation on these joints is very important and they are incredibly strong and any geniune claim is always resolved.
Also out of the couple that have broken 1 was running over 300kw at the wheels. I have seen this truck run nasty hills under full noise with only 1 front side working under increadable load and was unable to break the CalOffroad CV or axle.
we dont offer warranty against breakage as it is unforseen what people put them through and as you know anything can be broken with enough power or gear reduction, however if an item breaks due to faulty workmanship we will replace no problems.
These are so much stronger than standard Cvs and axles that most people will never have a problem.
I know of many people who have spent over $20,000 on diffs and they still break.
these are the strongest you can buy that will fit in the GQ or GU diff.
and we have hundreds of people all around the world running huge tyres big motors etc etc and are loving them with no problems
I also know that CalOffroad BBM and Superior are very fussy on what they sell and will not sell products that they dont beleive in.
customer support is very important to us and if anyone has any problem ever they should just give us a call or email.

Cal Goodman

So please, take the time to read this and then please confirm whether or not you wish to go ahead with your purchase. I hope this clears any misconceptions or doubts.

My truck gets used in club conditions and not comp but it's still pretty full on stuff. Thanks Cal for clearing matters and asserting your confidence in your product.
