Lifting a 75series

Post by Barno111 »

Looking at doing a lift on my ute! going 2inch springs 2inch shackels with 5inch extended shocks! Anyway where can i get extended bump stops so i dont bottom out on my shockies? Also with a lift of this hight the sway bar. How much more flex do i get when taking it off and can you buy extended arms for it so you dont get as much roll on the road? Is it a big thing if i leave the swaybar as is?

why 5" shocks for a 3" lift?

you can get extensions for the sway bars just about every where, i removed my sway bars the week after i got my fj73 and didnt really notice any diffrence on road.

and make a spacer for the bump stops
1uzed and no home for it

and why extended shackles? they change the angle to much which causes heaps more stress on the springs and is a cause of spring damage, imo stick with spring lift only unless you are going big then spoa and all the other crap that goes with that

the extended shackles are for extra lift. I would go bigger in the springs but its easier to just change over the shackles then change over the springs if pulled over! With the shocks i would rather have longer then need! Plus inverted shackles give more lift then just standard so the lift should be more around the 4inch!

if get shocks that are too long when you compress your suspension you will bottom out the shocks and wreck them. Your shocks should be matched to your suspension not just buy "really long ones". And if you get the right match you won't need to modify your bump stops and therefore decrease your up travel.

Inverted shackles are something you really don't want. When your shackle inverts it is bad news! I think what you mean is anti inversion shackles.

Have you had a look at the kits offered by most of the 4wd shops? Most likely you will be able to get a complete kit with matched springs and shocks and coming with new u bolts, bushes, greasable shackles, steering damper etc.
