Anyone got a comp ready tuff truck for sale or swap

Post by kitacooch »

Hi there, just wondering if anyone else out there has a comp ready tuff truck for sale of for swap with my modified Disco.
ITEM:
A/ 95 Discovery 3.9l V8 4 door Auto (Dark Green)
B/ Above and in addition you get
94 Discovery 2 door Rossignol 3.5l V8 with LPG Dual Fuel, 5 speed manual partially dismantled and missing couple bits.
Boss Grande air compressor on tank 120psi auto cut off and 300w inverter.

CONDITION:
* Cruise Control but needs the vacume hoses fixed as not working, A/C, central locking, power windows and mirrors, haymen reece tow pack, very comfortable.
* Genuine Low KM's 172,000, previous owner had it garaged for 18 months not used, and for me it is a weekender only, once a month or so to ormeau, once a year to Rover Park or LCMP.
* Typical oil leaks for this model.
* Bumps and scratches, ask to see photos via email or book a viewing/test drive.
* rear bumper and guards dammaged (std dammage from exiting steep and deep wheel ruts), was planning on fitting custom rear bar and chopping the bottom of the guards out of the way.
* Small dent in roof and roof gutter on passenger side but not door or sill, can view photo (caused by slipping in deep rut and JUST bumping the roof into a tree at Xmas, BUGGER) :? .
* General bush scratches.
INTERIOR
* typical dash peeling up.
* typical roof lining drooping.
* small hole in side of rear seat (previous owner had a dog)

REASON FOR SELLING:
Too capable for me as a family car, getting a comp truck instead and a toned down family rig. (That way i can keep my kids safe as my self control is lacking.

PRICE AND PRICE CONDITIONS:
A/ $8000.00 as is ONO as is.

B/ $10,000 with RWC and second rig, all spare parts, and Brand new Boss Grande on board air compressor, 300w inverter. Both hard wired with high amp cabling and built in fuse.

EXTRA INFO:
A/
* Brand new 3 core Radiator,(not the cheap indian crap)
* Detroit True Tracks fitted to front and rear diffs. (diffs also from later model discovery as are low km)
* Donut to uni joint conversion.
* 5X 35” Cooper ST, LT 315/75 R16 mud tyres on 5X custom Performance Out Law alloys with off set.
* Guards cut and custom flares fitted
* 2” tuff dog suspension lift.
* H\Duty tuff dog steering dampener fitted (might need replacing)
* swey bars removed but still have them.
* ARB winch bar housing a Warne 10,000lb winch with brand new upgraded motor with breather.
*Custom rock sliders/sill protectors (50X50X3mm High Tensile Sq Tube) super tuff.
* Original power steering pump removed and replaced with a ford power steering pump.
* power steer lines and transmission lines replaced with flexible hydrolic hoses
* Milford Cargo barrier.
* Duel battery system, twin super charge allrounders with Traxiside SC80 monitoring device and manual high amp isolating swithch.
* Electric trailer brake system fitted (voyager)
* Kenwood detachable face CD\MP3 player.
* GME UHF radio.
* Larger exhaust system
* Safari Snorkel system fitted with earlier model air box.
* Driving lights (just cheapies)

B/
* You get A/ + Hard wired 12v, 3\4 HP Boss Grande air compressor with tank and auto cut off and a Built in 300w inverter.

* Also get Second rig, 94 discovery 2 door Rossignol 3.5l, 5 speed manual wrecking, almost complete but partially dismantled as was pulling it appart for spare parts.
* Diffs removed and partially dismantled for spare parts to take away.
* LPG system still installed, was going to re-fit to the good one.
* Lukey exhaust system.
* from what i can remember the only things missing from it are,
- bonnet (sold it but kept the change over to cover engine bay)
- steering box (sold it)
- couple seat belt fittings, sold it.
- distributer dammaged (but rapairable?).
- engine was running when began to wreck.
* can deliver locally for free as have access to tilt for wreck.

are there any basic rules with what you use to set up a competative comp truck?? ie wheel base, weight etc.
i am guessing that if these 2 are good then wouldn't matter a bit what the vehicle was obviously preferable to have coils.
For instance the 40 series, there really isn't any reason it couldn't be a successfull comp truck so long as the suspension and power/drive train is good.

Does it have rego? This will affect what comps you can do and where you can drive it? And if not you have to think of how you will cart it around.

what comps? how much to spend / budget ? how competitive?

FFS a GQ with 33" AT's is a comp truck and so is a $600,000 trophy truck, maybe you can tell us where you want to fit in the big scheme?

QLD rego rules dont allow for mods that mods comp trucks do for rego.
If it is rego'd and you are towing it to comps. Remove the plates while on the trailer. That way no wanker will report you or pull you over and give you hassel over defects on a rego'd car.

Cheers for the advice, i didn't think that that would be a problem.

As for what i want to do I don't know, i am fishing for options at the moment.
I will be towing either by trailer or on truck not sure yet.
Am thinking starting maybe on the cheaper side, maybe $10,000 to start with as i am new to comping (or will be when i start) so am thinking wise to start small and if i stick at it then maybe re-think it and go for something better or build up what i have.

start by looking at what comps are in your area and what sort of cars the guys are driving. comps with a stock class may be a good start
