Don't worry about the weather. We would need some real big local rain to have any effect on the running of the ARB XWC
Had a shower during the night.
Tracks are done and ready to go.
With 30 starters waiting to contest Round 1 it will be a very interesting weekend.
Don't forget Bushfire Appeal Auction & Calcutta on Saturday night at main stage. Dinner will be on sale for any supporters who want to join us on Main Stage, tickets available from Dave Moffat.
Cheers

Well it is 2.30am Saturday morning, just arrived back from Event area and having a cold drink before bed.
Yes an early night was planned but due to rain it caused some trouble on SS3, and at a quick guess only 6 Teams completed under time. But due to the rules 2 minutes was added to the DNF time giving another 3 or 4 Teams a score. Michael Carmac was 2 seconds out of time on this SS, but took it with one of his famous smiles. While 2 others went belly up on the same jump up on the return journey, needing to be recovered. The ARB Farmtruck managed to drive the hill and found a stump on the way down, resulting in a recovery.
Over 50% of Teams have suffered a DNF on at least 1 SS.
At the moment it is raining with some thunder & lightning about. These condition will make the rest of the weekend very interesting.
So do not let some rain put you off coming up to LMP. The fun has just started.
Cheers

Wife and I went up Friday night and left Saturday afternoon. Didn't see too much of Friday night stages but Saturday stages were a bit boring to watch really. The hills were not driveable at all it seemed and the winching was all down to who had a gigglepin twin motor and who didn't.
Not sure who was placing where we didn't hear anything over the PA system but left the stages on Saturday before they were finished. The park was wet Saturday morning but dried out a fair bit and we got to do a few hard tracks before leaving which was great fun. I love the friendship of four wheel driving when out on tracks, wife and I alone in the GQ but came across some like minded groups of guys which made it even more fun driving round.
A few rollovers on the weekend nothing nasty.. All OK
The auction was a great success raised well over $ 4000 for the bush fire appeal
would like to see a copy of the cheque posted on the net Or mmm Website for all the 4x4 world to take a look at how much the northern 4x4 family are willing to help our Vic friends in need WELL DONE FELLA'S... you should be proud...
Some more shots..good weekend....plenty of winching of course and some great driving and team work....
They worked well on this stage. I think the 1st ones to complete
this stage..A 3 winch and 15min dnf
Getting up
The boy's here started friday night shooting out of the starters block into darkness of the bush with turbo spooooooooooooling of its head only to clip a tree and put the truck on it's roof..No probelms on saturday kept her upright to get one of the fastest time on this stage

Any good luck to all competitors and go the MQ!!
Well I am with you on the boring parts there should have been more stages like SS8 . There is to much high speed driving and straight single line winching. I love it when the team need to use all there recovery equipment and the use of the ground anchor would be nice otherwise why do you make them have it ? Well at least I know that you can use a Nissan to pull a tree out roots and all.
all i can tell you is that rod and ashely mcraw came second . i got back home at midnight this morning from up there it was a good event lots of winching in and out of steep gullys.
Raised over $4000 for Bush Fire Appeal, this will be going to the Red Cross.
Thanks to Lawrie, Linda, Michael and with some help from me (First & last time I was in front of Lawrie) were doing hot laps for the spectators and raised over $300.
A big thanks to all the officials, great job guys.
Cheers
