Patrol 3.3TD Inj. pump change

Post by eduardo »

Gday

Me and a friend are setting up a 3.3td mk, we alredy upgraded some stuff, like turbo pressure, intercooler, exaust, admission...but the injection pump loocks a bit limited...has anyone changed the original inline pump for a bosh kind (rotary pump i guess??)

Is this even possible??

Are there any week points in a 88 3.3TD engine that we should take care when over-boosting it

thought about this ages ago.. bottom line that nikki inline pump would deliver more than enough cc's of fuel for an old donk like that. You will have more leverage with that pump than a rotory VE style... Weakest point keeping and SD33 cool has and always will be a problem.

What boost are you gunna run? no waste gate on the stock turbo will get about 15psi from memory.

Heat and a cracked head will be your biggest issue in my opion
