dodgy light

bought 2nd sierra and passenger light only goes on very dim when hi's and low's are turned on. also when the drivers side plug is taken out from the bulb the passenger one goes off altogether. and ideas? i tried playing with it today but if i dont get it soon ill take it to auto elec.

Well if I remember right from the last time I was playing with the headlights. Don't blame me if this isn't right, just trying to remember when I was seeing how they work for the spotties setup.
The lights both have a common 12v to both high and low (W/R and W/Bl), then low (R/W) and high (R) are 0v switched, so if your stalk is set to high, 0v will be on the red wire and 12v will be on the red/white, so between the common 12v and the high there is now a 12v potential, whereas between common and low beam there is no difference in potential, so no voltage across that globe.
The low and high are both connected in parallel, I don't know much about lights to be honest but in that case I don't see how one could be affected and the other not. Especially given it is happening in both high and low beam. I'd say maybe problem lies in the common taps on each light which are seperate, maybe low voltage for some reason... ?
Check the fuses as said, any connectors/terminals etc. in the path of the either the White/Red or White/Blue wire, whichever ones passenger. Might be a dodgy connection somewhere maybe corrosion/tarnishing, accumulated crud, something like that.
