Why pajero overboosting

Post by fazza81 »

Hi all,

Lately my pajero has been hitting 15psi boost and the release valve vents now this started to happen when I was towing a car trailer. I thought the actuator may be stuffed. Took it off and got it check but the turbo guy says it is ok.

I can not think of anything else it would be on the compressor housing there is 2 lines one goes to the actuator and the other goes to the boost guage and the fuel pump. Now if the guage is reading 15psi and the actuator line is right next to it that says to me the actuator is getting 15psi but not opening to let it vent.

Any other ideas?

Thanks guys

Yeah I know but that stalled at the 5000 rpm debate.

It sounds like the waste gate it stuck shut or the actuator isn't working.
You should be able to move the waste gate actuator by hand.
