Brake Booster

Post by MissDrew »

Will the booster off a 80 series bolt up to a hilux?

I have changed the master cyl from the 15/16 hilux one to the 1" 80 series one which has made some differance to the pedal feel but I want even better brakes. I want my lux to stop on a 10 cent piece :D

I`m hoping it will bolt up and make brakes even better than they are now.

As they are my brakes work better then when it had drums on the back but I`m gready and want even better

Gday
Dont know about lux but they bolt up to the 60 have 4 studs that go thru the firewall, have seen 60 ones in 40's so the 80 would go there aswell.
As far as the 60 went i had rv6 callipers on the hj60 discs with 80 booster/master with 35's and the brakes were excellent. (rv6 callipers run 45mm pistons x4 each as does the 80)
Andrew
ps have a 80 booster aswell if u need it.

Guts what rotors do you run on the rear, as hilux solid fronts inside diameter are too small for rear axles to fit :?: :D

Sorry yela I hadn`t notice this before now.

You need to machine some off the inside of the rotor and some off the outer edge of the axle flange so that they fit.

Early Subaru Calipors.
Brakets are a bit of flat with 5 holes in it, 3 for the flange bolts and 2 for the rotor. Plus 2 spacers for the calipor to line it up with the rotor.

For the handbrake you have to turn the leaver on the calipor 90 deg and put it back on, then make a hole in it and put the standard cable on to it with the standard pin.
