#27 vacuum line on 16v
#27 vacuum line on 16v
Hey guys, I'm just trying to confirm that the #27 vacuum line (on the front of the manifold) on the 1.6 16v engine plumbs into the charcoal canister (if that's what it is called). Have the engine in my sierra and this line has been cut, doesn't seem to mate to anything on the engine and I dont have another engine bay to look at and compare. Also could this explain the occasional drop in revs I get at idle? Typical idle when warm seems to be about 650rpm but a few times when sitting at the lights for extended periods the idle falls to something like 200rpm. It may even stall but I give the pedal a nudge to save it.
Ah ok. Mine seems to have a different set up. There are two solenoids on the front of the upper section of the inlet manifold. One has lines 6 and 26, the first of which goes into the manifold where the intake runs in and second to an actuator on the back of the manifold. The other solenoid controls lines 16 and 27. 16 goes back into the manifold just above the solenoid while 27 had just been cut off when the engine was lifted. I have no free vacuum ports which is why i suspected it went straight to the canister. I may have to comb the car yards for a vit to compare!
So i just happened to be reading "dad"s g16 to sierra thread and there in the first post is a nice pic of a vit engine bay. First thing i saw was the charcoal canister at front with the little vacuum line going to the solenoid. The exact same line that has been severed in mine! Have connected it up and will see if it has any effect on my mystery idle!
