EFS springs/shocks
Hey everybody,
I bought a second hand set of EFS extreme 4'' springs and shocks for my gq about 8-9 months ago. I knew the bloke i bought them off, and they were maybe 5000 klms old, if that. I've done about 5000 klms on them, and the drivers side is sagging HEAVILY. I can understand the uneven weight of the vehicle, having a 100 kg driver, spare 33'' tire and battery on the same side, but after a pretty tame session a few weeks ago, i got home and discovered that i had at least one busted shock. which i've just confirmed is two busted shocks.
I wish to replace this with something (possible a flexy coil and boss combo) but i'm concerned that if i get a flexy coil, it will sag again, and if i get a heavy coil, it will articulate poorly. any ideas?
for those that will say loose some weight fatty, i'm switching from heavy weights to light weights+reps to loose some bulk and make the car a few kg lighter on one side. seriously.

Re: EFS springs/shocks
EFS have 100k/3yr warranty.
Take them back, even though you didnt buy them, they wil have date stamps on or in the shock, and will know they arent over that age.

Don't listen to 98lux. The shocks are mean't to limit down travel.
I can understand that EFS springs sag but I am a bit surprised about the EFS Extreme shocks.
Just confirming that you have the red big bore EFS Extreme shocks.

I can't be bothered but I bet it will state something upon the lines of for the first owner....or he'd need proof of purchase (receipt).
PS: lol @ shane's comment on efs spring sag, got any viagras for my set mate? lol
Before we bag out EFS too much we better check that you have fitted the taller coil on the drivers side and the shorter coil on the passenger side. You wouldn't be the first to put them around the wrong way not realising that they are different left to right.
If you have a spare couple of hours swap them over left to right. If you find you are sagging heaps on the passenger side then swap just one coil back over.
Have you fitted upper adjustable trailing arms? Coils don't like it if they are bent like a banana. Have you fitted adjustable panhard rods?
Suspension Stuff warranties all our coils for 2 years, even our flexy coils as long as the adjustable panhard rods and upper adjustable trailing arms have been fitted.

as far as i was aware, we fitted them according to the tags on the springs. It was 2 am though.
It has no factory trailing arms, an adjustable panhard, but not draglink.
Unfortunately, since moving back into the city i have nowhere to do the required tooling. All of my tools/compressor and spring compressor have been taken to my olds place, i'd much rather pay someone here to check it out than have to drive there to do it. I'll hunt around and let you know how i go.
