Do ARB have lockers for both 2 and 4 pinion lockers?
What do WT diffs have?
What do NT diffs have?
Will a NT centre fit into a WT?
How much reduction would it be if you put the NT into a WT?
Worth it?
the best way to do it is to get someone that knows what they are doing to do it. the most cost effective way to achieve this is to do it when you are installing a locker or rebuilding the diff to fit after market chromo axles. get a solid spacer installed instead of the crush sleeve for the closest thing to bullet proof you can have.

it's just the ring and pinion. the vitara diff and housing goes in the bin.

any vitara 1.6L is 5.12... once you get into the v6's, then you start hitting the 4.62's i think.

not sure about the arb locker availability

w/t is 3.7... n/t is 3.9... you're reduction would be 3.9/3.7 = 1.05%... is that worth it? dunno - is it worth increasing tyre size 5%? maybe.

Ok I figure my question best suits this thread;
Where can I find some nice decal / stickers for my 4wd?
Large tough dog sticker for example. I would love to know where to find one of these.

Usually from the manufacturer or distributor. At comps they often hand them out at the trade stands.

I want to know if the non-vented front disc brakes/calipers etc. from a SWB vitara will fit on the LWB vitara that originally came out with vented front disc brakes/calipers etc. ? I had a good search and couldn't find the info i was after, I know I've read something about this before. Could someone please help me out, I need to know in a bit of a hurry as I'm looking at purchasing another suzuki. Also, did all LWB vitara/escudos come out with the vented front disc brakes? Thank you :)

Note: the LWB vehicle is a 1991 and the SWB vehicle will be about the same vintage.

eh,

you want to put the non vented onto a vented setup?

why?

afaik i beleive they will fit as the vented ones are the same bolt pattern as sierra ones. and the non vented ones are same as sierra rotors and discs maybe.

This may very well be a silly question!

Has anyone locked up the choke mechanism on a sierra carb?
i.e by tieing it up with some wire so it doesnt stay on?

Hi Chop.

The carb in my 91wt has the choke disabled. Mine is done using a cable tie. :D

The reason mine is disabled is because the choke mechanism is stuffed on my carb (was like that when I got it). It starts first time every time, but it needs one or two minutes to warm up before driving it, or it will stall. I have set the "idle-up" on my zook to around 1500RPM, so all I do is turn the parkers on, and walk away for 1-2 mins. Its all good!

Thats good to hear, i presume your talking about the choke idle screw that is underneath the rear of the carby?

No, its an electronic idle-up. When things such as your headlights and your heater fan are turned ON, the idle up kicks in and increases the RPM to help the engine cope with the extra load. In a normal situation, when adjusted to normal specs, you may not really notice the "idle-up" at all ('cos it might be maintaining the same RPM - i.e. it might be compensating for the extra load perfectly.)

Have a look at the carb and turn your headlights on and off. You will see an actuator moving that increases the RPM slightly. This has an adjustment screw on it. This is what I adjusted to set it at my desired Idle-Up RPM. (I cant remember exactly where it is as I'm not with the car at the moment.)

I find the idle-up handy when crawling with my 6.5's too. Parkers go on, idle goes up, car climbs anything with no chance of stalling!

Works well for me!

You also need to back off the choke screw too. Carbies are easy, just gotta know how they work. If you look from the engine side of the carbie with the throttle on full you will see a screw. Back it off slowly till the choke doesnt come on at cold start.

I'm wanting to replace the front and rear output shaft seals on the transfer case of my 93 vit. I've looked at the seals and noted what i assume are part numbers. How do I interpret these:

4877
12661
40
54
KOK

All from the rear output seal. Even better, where is the best place to buy such seals?

a sierra should as long as it's not a ute model no seat adjustment.

You may want to get a steering wheel spacer made up to pull the wheel closer to you. It helps with knee room, otherwise you shouldn't have a problem.

Im 6'4" and have a sierra. I have a smaller steering wheel (i have power steer) which helps with knee space. as does the after market racing seats i have which support my legs in a bent position thus relieving the strain. You should also be able to move the seat back on its mounts with out too much work.

There's a fine line of comfort with utes.

Grimbo is 6'4" and he fitted into a ute fine, once he fitted a fixed back fibreglass seat that got his back up straight and flush against the cab. Any taller though and he would have struggled as his knees would have been all over the steering wheel.

There also seems to be an awkward size above about 5'9" where you've too close to the wheel and your knees are into the wheel etc.

I'm just over 5'6" but have VERY short legs so I'm laughing - I can't see what all the fuss is about

So it can be done but I may need to do some mods to get comfortable. I used to drive my sisters mazda 121 with no troubles and drive a mazda 3 fairly easily but most of my work mates have been telling me not to waste my time with a sierra .

Reverse light stays on

Post by GRPABT1 »

Hey guys I noticed this morning that my reverse light is staying on constantly. It's alway had one blown bulb but this morning the thing was on no matter what gear I was in. I'm gonna take it out for the time being but is there any fuses or such that might cause this?
