2" Dropped Crossmember

Post by Weiner »

Hey guys,

Just finished making my 2" Dropped cross member for the front of the lux.

1. What have people done with their recovery hooks on the front, as the c/m will be in the way.

2. Is it worth drilling some holes and bolting it into existing holes or just weld it on?

3. What to do with the brace that links the frame rails with the front cross member, should I just weld on a tab to the new cross member and bolt it to the holes in the rails.

Thanks.

in the past ive disgarded the hooks on the front... instead ive gotted 9/16- 5/8 D rings and welded them right to the front. one on each side

Thanks, you welded it to the crossmember or the chassis?

oh... ive taken angle iron to reinforce the front of the chassis, and welded the mount of the D ring straight to the front of the angle iron... like on my old rig.
