does a standard 4x4 hilux gear stick still fit with a 3 inch body lift?

I did 2 inch and have trouble with the boot slipping off the transfer stick. the gear stick is a bit funny with 5th and reverse but not enough for me to worry about it.Have heard about people having to modify the hole a bit.

thanks, cos im sick of going through mud holes and getting more mud in the truck than on the truck. and the after market ones are just s**t. the trouble you had with the boot sliping off the trany stick does it slip past the gear nob too?
