92 Bighorn Automatic Issues

Post by KiwiBacon »

Is there a common problem with the automatics in the early 90's bighorn/trooper/jackaroo?

An old workmate had issues with his and was quoted around $700 to fix it, a mate is considering buying one which won't drive forwards (presume it does move in reverse).

Anyone got any clues? These are both 3.1 diesels, both jap imports. One wears honda badges, other isuzu but essentially identical.

The auto's in the Isuzu's are AW30-80LE Asian which are common in the Toyota's, Jeeps, Volvo's ect, just the shafts and bells are different from my understanding.

don't know much more as I've never had one.

Finally saw the vehicle, the clutch packs inside are slipping.
