Ballocks for spring eye?
Ballocks for spring eye?
Greg I think, suggested putting ballock joints in the fixed end eye of springs to allow superior articulation and twist.
Has this been done?
I would like to hear about the handling characteristics, both on road as well as in the dirt
Anyone? Greg?
LM.

Don't forget though that you will need to replace the spring mount (chassis end) because the bullock / johnny joints will need a wider mount to do it's job...
cheers
What do you recommend Greg? I see from that thread that someone mentioned 89mm, but I saw no firm answer.
I intend to order new springs soon, but have to sort my shocks out first.
Still doing my homework.
Merci bowcups

Nah, sorry to confuse. I am getting new front shox before I alter the rear springs. I already have the longest Ranchos in the rear canted to about 35 or 40 degrees.
But as I intend to fit longer custom rear springs soon, I thought that the Bollocks might just put me over the top, seeing as I have revolvers fitted also.
P'raps i'm being greedy and will die because of it yeah?
Just need to know what the degree of bollock flex is and what it amounts to in side play. That way I can make my fixed hanger mounts to suit.
Cheers

This mod will dramatically reduce the roll stiffness of the vehicle .. IMHO after seeing the likes of gerg an LJEXTREme max out 12 inch plus travel ranchos .. I see little gain in oit .. ( arghh .. saying two SPUA vehicles can flex .. what next .. I will hate beer )
Fortuately I have had several (actually nine) stubs of carlton draght and two bottles if vino .. so all commnets are most likley true

I've got them in both ends of the rear springs on mine.
Got the springs made by Scott at Cortina Springworks in Toowoomba (super happy with the service/speed/price)
Spring cant move sideways so its located better, but you will have more roadnoise transfered to the car.
Theres plenty more travel than this pic shows- just need to put a lift kit on the stump!

All I see lately is Red X's, so I can't see your pic.
How do you mean the spring can't move sideways?
