so i took the vitara ('96 LWB) through some mud holes (no snorkel or anything) worst was over the bonnet for around 2 seconds anyway most were around 15-20" deep.
basically the engine is shaking alot now at low rpm (500-1500) but dissappears suddenly once a bit higher. while idling it seems to lose speed down to 500rpm or so then come back up to the usual 800 and shakes alot when accelerating up to 1500rpm n above.
basically any ideas as to what would be causing this would be good
secondly when adding a snorkel what else should be waterproofed?

I was thinking about sealing everything with silastic (diz cap on, and all leads on) it would be a prik to take off, but it shouldn't have to come off very often.
If i do deep enough crossings, at speed, once i exit the water the car mis-fires for about 10-15 seconds. I actually killed a distributor in the bush about 4-5km from road. (Sierra)

ive had a similar problem with a '96 LWB. changed the plugs once and the problem came up again. i figured the coil needs replacing.
by the way. the water crossing wasnt even deep but i dove in fast enough to get muddy water splashed all over the valve cover and the firewall where the dizzy and coils sit.
