98 Sierra Lift Kit
98 Sierra Lift Kit
Have a customer wanting to source a lift kit for a 98 Sierra. I have asked my suppliers, and they have stated that the chassis will not with-stand the lift.
Would like to know if anyone has done a lift, or, what the dimensions of the coils and shock eyelets are so I can match up a similar suspension kit.
Cheers

i lifted my 96 sierra, its coil sprung.
i got my springs from ironman and my shocks are ultima shocks, just the cheap raised ones off ebay. seems to work fine
im not a sierra guru or anything but from what i understand the chassis is strong enough, its more the diff doesnt like to flex and rips the brackets that the trailing arms connect to
any corrections welcome as i mentioned before im no guru, only had one now for about two months

Agree with the guys on reinforcing the strut mounts. The shocks have been known to punch through the mounts. Some of the results that I've seen of this is the shock rod earthing out on the wiring.
The only longer length shocks off the shelf for the SJ80 is made by Ultima http://www.australianautomotiveparts.co ... usp.php#s1 though I've seen custom Ranchos. King Springs make raised coils, as do several others but you don't want to go much higher than 40-50mm. The SJ80 doesn't have a steer damper from factory and it is good idea to add one. Tough Dog (4Way) have a kit.
