FJ45 Tie Rod and Relay Rod
I need to upgrade my (bent) tie and relay rods to stronger aftermarket items. I would appreciate any tip offs to good suppliers / manufacturers.
Cheers

The rods are all the original landcruiser 40 series. Snake racing have an upgrade kit but I was wanting to know what other suppliers made kits for FJ45's. The original subject line indicated FJ45. The username and avatar were a bonus extra.vk7ybi wrote:Ok, so what taper does the rod end use? Hilux or 75 FJ45? Hows a person expected to know this looking at your username and avatar?
Im not surprised hes got no suggestions.. The taper in the steering arm is different between hilux and 75 FJ45. Just because the rod is in a FJ45 doesnt mean its factory, as we've leanred the steering isnt, nor is the axle, both of which have steering components between. If I told you I have a 78 FJ40, you cannot tell me what rods I have..
I have always got my steering arms made custom at the time needed. No ones ever asked what I have, just guestimate a price and I send in my original arms to them so they can make something up right.
BBM in NSW made my last arm, have got a mate making some up now in Brisbane. BBm made a pretty good arm, cost $300ish.

Thanks for the tip, I think that is the way to go. There does not seem to be a lot available off the shelf.Ricko wrote:I have always got my steering arms made custom at the time needed. try Man-A-Fre.com, they now have a location is NSW, but the selection is limited.
MAF has an aftermarket solution to the thin wall stock relay rod and draglink.
the dollar is not too bad right now, but shipping might kill the deal.
full custom might be the go.
here is the link.
