Will i need a catch can when i intercool my 1hz 80 with after market turbo setup?

I would put one on otherwise you will clog up your intercooler.

Does it have blowby? If so, then use a catch can.

If you go about fitting a catch can, make sure all fittings/air lines are atleast the same dia as the factory fittings to minimise any chance of further pressuring the system.

There was an autospeed article about making a catch can, here are a few pics borrow from lcool aswell

In the above setup, the vent hose travels slightly uphill into the bottom of the canister, and the vapour hits that drilled plate above which the scourers sit, by design this is self draining back into the tappet cover as the oil condenses and drips back down the hose via gravity.

There is also a hose coming out the top as a air vent/breather.

its a diesel


I would put one on otherwise you will clog up your intercooler. even if u do id be more worried about it getting back to your engine
