Water
Has anyone else experienced water on the floor of the front passenger side? After we had all this rain I discovered on Saturday that the carpet is absolutely saturated....I have checked the air con pipe and it is still connected, checked to make sure there are no holes under the carpet and I haven't noticed any water coming in the windscreen whilst driving along and just wondering how else it could be getting in. Any ideas?

I had that problem but on the drivers side. Water was driping on the accelerator pedal... looked underneath the dash and found light coming in... opened the bonnet and on the firewall there is a large white plastic cover with a cable running through a whole in it... on the left of it was another hole about 5mm in diameter... a bit of blue tack and no more leaks.... hope it helps.

I do have roof racks....will have to check that out when I get home. Wouldn't the water come through though when I am say washing teh car?

Check next time it rains heavy above the passengers head where the resin top joins the body, it might be a dodgy seal there. Mine does leak there sometimes after heavy rain when the car is parked downhill, i think the water builds up on the seal and gets in. I have felt a drip or two and on inspection found a trickle.

Hmmmm hose
Look at what is around where the water is coming in then point the hose at the area (turn hose up high ) get a mate in the car with a torch too look for water getting in. i seem to spend all day at work doing this after rain, but i work for holden so whats to be expected

Ok well I had to drive to work in the rain today and the water has started dripping in again. It is coming from up under the direction of the glove box....I think the theory about a hole on the fire wall is looking like the cause I will get in there tonight and have feel around. About where on the fire wall is this little covered hole so I know approximately where I should be looking/

Hope it's not the problem I had with my last Daihatsu (an '84 Charade). It had developed a rust hole through to the air intake plenum just below the windscreen (the bit where all the fresh air is ducted in from outside).
It was a right prick of a job to patch it up.
If you can't locate the leak in the engine bay firewall try getting someone to spray water into the air inlets just in front of the windscreen and check for leaks inside. The water should all drain out under the car, if it doesn't the drain holes are blocked.

Check behind the windscreen washer bottle... you'll have 2 rubber boots (one white and one black on mine) with wiring going through it. Check that they are on tight and for any cracks.
Try running a hose down the firewall and have someone check for water inside before and after checking it. If it leaks before and not after ensuring all is tight and not crackd, you've found your leak.
What Murray said about the rust is a possibility but as the Feroza bodies were all galvanised it might be a little soon for rust to develop unless there was accident damage repaired in that area.... but it is still a possibility.
Cheers

QG, Id say its the rubber grommets in the firewall. Grab some silicone sealer and go round them all. Both around the outside of the grommet where it meets the metal, and the inside where the wires go through. Check also where the A/C drain goes through the floor or firewall. Water may be splashing up from underneath.

Did you have a hard night on your namesake?!
PS: If that leak is over in the passenger side it would be worth fixing it ASAP. The ECU is over there in the kickpanel under the glovebox, and that wiring loom going through the firewall is most likely the one coming from it- water and ECU's don't mix well!

I have discovered it is actually the air con and I won't be able to get it fixed until next Friday when I have my RDO I am about ready to sell this car with all the problems I am having!

Is it just the rubber hose that's the problem? It just pushes on to the plastic enclosure outlet that the aircon unit sits in under the dash. (highly technical description there! )
Otherwise the plastic casing would have to be cracked to leak? Or the hose could be blocked, but the water level would have to be very high to overflow?
Is your aircon covered by the warranty? I know my warranty specifically didn't cover any air con faults.

Well my brother got in and had a look yesterday and couldn't see where it was leaking but it definately the air con inside as I don't have the puddle of water on the ground when the car gets turned off now as the puddle is on the carpet in the car.
I am going to take to my air con guy now after all the stuff ups this other guy has made fixing it under warranty it wasn't playing up until they fixed it the other week. It was a very dodgy dan who fixed it I think. At least it will be right after this
