I did a search, but couldn't find anything.
Can someone please help me, My BJ42 requires me to warm the plugs before EACH start. I'm sure this isn't normal. Now whilst I'm no mechanic, I do understand a little bit about engines.
I was thinking that it's time to replace the glow plugs. So my two questions are this;
1) Will changing the glow plugs fix the problem?
2) Is changing glow plugs similar to swapping out spark plugs? (I've swap spark plugs, but never glow plugs).
3)Will I need any special tools?
Any help you can offer, will be greatly appreciated.

Changing glow plugs on a 3B in a BJ42???

if the engine is warm from being run, it should start first go with no glowing.
If you crank it warm without glowing, how long does it take to start? Could be damaged injector nibs, tired injector springs, low compression or any number of other things, but if its only a problem to start when cold, then its just the glow plugs.
Super easy to change. Unbolt the power bar running along the tops by undoing the little nut on the top of each plug, then unscrew plugs. Reverse procedure with new plugs to put back in. Nice to disconnect battery first too.

Not sure what you mean. If the engine is warm, sure, shouldn't need to be glowed. Otherwise will need to be glowed. Mine (3B) is fairly temparmental and usually needs some glow even when it is a bit warm. Changing glow plus is very easy, no special tools required, is similar to sparkies.

In regards to the engine being warm, it doesn't matter if I can drive the car for 5min or 2hrs. As soon as I turn it off, I won't be able to start it again without twisting the key the opposite way and waiting for approx 30sec, before the little orange light shines and only then can I start the ol' girl.

also FYI , if your turning the key backwards you dont have " superglow" so your plugs are normal 12v ones. ( superglow is 6v)
