NT and WT Brake Lines Q
NT and WT Brake Lines Q
Does anyone know whether NT and WT brake lines are interchangable? I.e. do they use the same fittings? If they are what are the fitting names?
I'm trying to organise some extended brake lines for an NT Sierra but need to know lengths, how many for front and rear and type of fitting.
I don't have access to the vehicle. Even some pics would be good.
Cheers

My 83 NT LWB has only one line running to the rear.hobzees4wdshop wrote:ah thanks Nic, Nah its actually for another Rig, I thought the NTs had two lines running to the rear.

Hard line runs along the DS frame rail=>Rubber line=>Hard line to each drum via a T-piece.
I can take a pic from the Master cylinder (non boosted) or any where else if you need them.

If you had lengths of their standard lines all round and a Pic of the soft line fittings either side that would be great V840. Cheers

Mines an 83 NT 1.0litre.
Mine had one rear line, to the drivers side drum slave cyl, then a line out of slave to other side.
It now has a t-piece after disc conversion.
I've seen a few different set ups, even on same year cars.
The fronts I've seen are pretty much the same on all disc versions.
But I'm told later models have a 3 way cross over weird set up ??

After checking again, mines the same as Christover's ^^^^^^
1 line to rear diff then 1 line to rear DS drum then another line exiting rear drum that goes to other sides drum.
Any way here's some pics, I wasn't too sure what you wanted exactly so if you need something else, hit me up.
My vin if it helps you work out what model I have. Still fairly sure it's NT though.
Overview of hardline route from MC
I only measured the height of the line, let me know if you want any other measurements
I measured up to here (approx. 2100mm) which is the rearmost point of the hardline along the frame, but I did not factor in the curvature of the frame so maybe add a few cm more.
Soft line going to rear diff.
Hard line on rear diff (facing towards rear)
Front soft lines. These are probably only 8" or so long
Let me know if you need any more specific pics or measurements.

1 more. This are standard sierra hardlines running from a GQ master cylinder just to give you slightly more perspective on their length.
NB. On a sierra MC the 2nd outlet is right around the 3" mark facing the same direction as the other one.
