is it possible to get a whole new engine for one of these or who in Perth is capable of rebuilding one?

there have been a few floating round on ebay, long motors with no manifolds or pumps etc...a fte from a 100 will also work. 6k for long motor 9k for secondhand fte

It whould be a 1hdft and they can be brought new for around 6k at the right toyota dealer (1 in ballarat vic) often has them on ebay.

any diesel shop or reputable rebuilder will be able to rebuild, but, cost will be 4k for parts and machining, plus their time...toyota full engine for 6 with warrenty and you can then try to sell the bits left over.....heaps better option, but where u r, it might be better getting balarat to courier one over on a pallet.
