4X4 MECHANIC NEEDED IN BRISBANE DRIVETRAIN ISSUES

Post by SCANAS »

Put it up in general as well by mistake. Either way help appreciated
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have got two issues with my HJ60

1. Once the hubs engaged - I have a rattle / bearing noise in front end. Doesn't matter what gear t/case in. It's always there. Gets worse when loaded up.

2. Once I select 4L I can feel and hear the Transfer case or something else 'slipping' I can feel it through the transfer case lever, but it might be coming from elsewhere. It feels like I am loosing drive somewhere. I ave a bodylift but lever not fouling on body - been chopped away. Won't stay in 4H at all as soon as lift accelerator it pops out. 4L all good but 4h comes straight out

My mechanic suggested overhaul the t/case but can't find the noise in front end. He suggested a 4x4 mechanic with knowledge or drive train angles etc would be the way to go.

Want to get both sorted, who can I take it to in Brisbane? If case needs an overhaul i'd go reduction gears. Thanks in advance. Dan
I'm not quitting drinking, I'm retiring at the top of my game - sporting comeback likely.

I find Fourbys in Moorooka to be pretty good with my BJ42 and our work HJ60. Not sure if this is up their alley, but give them a call and chat with Sean.
