V6 AUTO - CJ7 ????

Post by madbunyip »

Couldn't be bothered searching never works for me :?

doing up old CJ7 it has a ford 4.1 xflow (carby) matched to a old trimatic auto?? - stock drive line
also have a VN 3.8 auto

is there some sort of kit to put the V6 in??? I have never fiddled with jeep's - how hard???, where to start????

do I match the V6 to the old trimatic or leave T700????
the ford motor just doesn't work in there, bad conversion,

any info would be good,
cheers
03 TJ sport skyjacker/warn stuff and some bling :) - been around Jeeps before, this is my 1st,
NOW I UNDERSTAND :)

Hi there havs never seen a cj with a v6 but you will have to use the th700
and have a 4wd shaft put into it try jb conversions for the adapter
it would help knowing what year cj it is as the had two diffrent types of transfer cases
you will probably have to make your own engine mounts to suit this combo

There is a few in the US that have put in the buick V6 (very very similar to the holden V6) but no kit

All jeeps are like a big mechano set so mix and match as you like and your fab skills allow

amc v8's and newer jeep I6's allow you to use factory engine mounts

Driveline

Post by Loz 78 CJ7 »

I have a full driveline for sale if you are interested... Much better than a V6.
