cab mount bolts

Post by GaryS »

Just started a cab off chassis rebuilt on a 99 DX TD42 patrol. The problem I have is that some of the cab mount bolts are so rusted that one needed to be cut (front) one snapped (also front) and one spins when attaching a socket. The remaining end of the bolt on the cab side is impossible to get at. Has anyone had this problem before?

the front two are accesable by cutting the upright radiator supports.

The two under the foot wells will require a holesaw throught the floor to get to them.

The two rear ones need to have the seats removed and have a plastic cap over them which you need to remove to get to the body bolts

Cheers MickyD, Basically thought as much, just hoping for some magic cure - looks like I will be friends with an angle grinder.
