Hi i just purchased an 85 hilux 2.4 Diesel. It was some oil in the radiator but no water in the oil. Seems to run at a good temperature and doesn't miss a beat.
Any idea's?
What is a good way to flush out the radiator?
Cheers

Hilux oil in radiator

best way to wash out ur system is to disconect one of the heater hose on the fire wall and stick ur garden hose down one end of the heater hose, and take the radiator cap off and turn the hose on and wait 15mins or till the water is clean. it will be best to check ur termo stat too. as when i cleaned mine out i checked the termo stat and it was stuck half open, so for cheap insurance ($15 termo stat) i got a new one.
i can rember how i filled it back up. a mate told me to use a bottle cut in half and stuck on top the of the radiator and u run ur engine and it helps get the air buble out of the system, but i cant realy remeber how i did that bit.

Nah wasn't an old bloke, bloke i bought it off said that it has been that way since he owned it tho and he just didn't bother flushing it as it always ran fine. Might rip the radiator out give it a hit with the boiling water outa the kettle to try break down the oil and also give the heater hose idea a shot! Thanks fella's
