OK, Ive been looking for some info regarding Pto's for the MQ/MK.
Mine bolts to the back of the transfer and goes where the main shaft ends. Undo the rear cover plate on transfer and it slips on there.
The other type ive seen curtosy of RMP&O is one that replaces a small cover on the left? side of the gearbox and runs off the layshaft.
How common are both types?
And which would be stronger?
Mine looks like it caused a mainshaft bearing failure. I bought it like this, and id say there was a few issues as the box looks rebuilt.
Anyone got a gearbox mounted PTO for sale?
I also have no idea how mine gets it oil. Looks like would be seperate from the transfer as is uphill from the main shaft?

Re: chasing some Info regarding PTO assembly for MQ/MK
i cant say i've seen a whole lot of PTO drives/winches for the MK/GQ patrols, however as far as i know, the safari was the only model that had PTO winches fitted.pongo wrote:OK, Ive been looking for some info regarding Pto's for the MQ/MK.
