X2
I was looking for ages for someone to paint my '68 valiant, as it was going 3 layer pearl. in the end i bit the bullet and did it myself, and couldn't be happier. admittedly it's not summernats spec, but it came out way better than anyone thought i could do (being a first timer). Just pick up a bonnet or a door from the wreckers first and have a practice, and you'll be suprised at how easy it is to get a decent finish. if you're still stuck let me know as i'm only in Beerwah.

Do an upmarket Roothy. Go get a few litres of a fancy Killrust colour and a Little Beaver airless spraygun and give it a go.

Course when you realise you hate it you'll then go and do it properly either yourself or one of the offers above etc.

How "cheap" are you thinking and what type of quality are you expecting/hoping.

the problem is if you have a go yourself and rooster it up no one is going to want to fix it for you if you've used cheap enamel based paints.

either go cheap and live with the results
or pay someone to do it for you either in a cheaper paint or something decent.

Just ring around a few panel shops in your area and see if there's anyone interested in giving there apprentice a go at a respray or there may be a shop or 2 thats a bit quite that will do a quick job at a good price.

You could do it yourself but what theses guys are happy with as apposed to what your happy with could be 2 different things. In my eyes any job thats painted in a shed looks shit.

I would strongly recomend you get it done professionly even if done on the cheap as it will be done in a spray booth and will look heaps better then anything you can do in the shed.

Cheers Mick.

Oh yeah forgot to add i did mine in a booth too. even see if you can hire a booth for the day over a weekend, get the prep done at home and then tow it in and spray it.
