Looking at Troopies, a few questions.

Post by Andy-m »

Hi all

I am new to the forum and am looking to buy a Troopy. I will have a few questions over the next week which may sound stupid but you answers will help me a lot.

I am looking at a 1992 with 340000 kms, it has 31x10.5 15 LT tyres on it. The vehicle looks lower than a couple of others I have seen with the split rims. Are the 31x10.5 15's smaller in diamater or do you think the springs may have sagged?

Cheers Andy

The std 750R16's (split rim models) measure just under 32".

The 31's probably measure under 31"

There's still a good chance the springs have sagged, especially if they're original springs ;)

Check for rust in bottom of windscreen frame (can be visible outside or inside cab), rear quarters, roof gutter, sills, footwells (esp passenger side). Listen for gearbox whine esp. in 5th.

Good luck ;)
