GU Ute cab onto GQ chasis do they fit

Title kinda says it all , got a late GQ chasis from a wagon will the earlier style GU ute cab fit ? How many mounts are needed to be moved , any thing else needed ? think the gear box selector box is different too? Just trying to get info for future project .

Cant help you with specifics. But it has been done. The one I know of was a GU ute cab on a SWB chassi.

yes mate it can be done it will bolt on with no mods.

ive got a gq and my parents have a gu and the body mounts appear to be the same

this is right i know a GU ute cab will bolt straight up to a GQ chassis i was under the impression that a GQ and GU chassis are the same

What about gear stick position , I was under the impression the GU shifter was further back .
Will have to get out the tape , this may be easier than I thought.

it is different and the top cap doesn't change over between GQ and GU box's. you will need to cut the tunnel.
